The Woman Behind
The Universe

It began with two questions.

The more I dug into my roots, the more I understood myself. Somewhere between Wilson, North Carolina, Harlem, New York, the Bronx, and my Nigerian heritage, I realized those places, people, cultures, and experiences weren’t separate pieces of me. Together, they shaped the way I see the world.

My story didn’t begin with a book, a stage, a screenplay, or a podcast. Long before any of those things, it began with two questions: What do you do when your mind experiences the world through stories? And where do you put everything that makes you different

For years, I tried to answer those questions with titles. Poet. Speaker. Author. Editor. Writing coach. Creative strategist. Mentor. Every title was true, but none of them could hold all of me. Eventually, I realized they weren’t supposed to.

I wasn’t created to fit neatly into one category. I was created to take everything that shaped me and create from it.

From New York sidewalks to Southern roots, from the camouflage that quietly nods to my grandfather’s military service to the African prints that speak to my heritage, pieces of where I come from keep finding their way into who I am and what I create. They may seem like they belong to completely different worlds. To me, they’ve always belonged to the same story.

Even my name carries that story. Linda. Beautiful. Orji. Strong Tree. A strong tree doesn’t exist for itself. Its roots hold it steady while its branches stretch outward, creating room for something else to grow.

That’s how the Linda Orji Creative Universe came to make sense. Not as one title, one profession, or one idea, but as a place where everything I am, everything I create, and everything I help build with others can share the same roots while growing in different directions.
